As a creative consultant, I work with clients on planning, organizing, implementing and evaluating projects that meaningful engage young people in their community or organization.
My philosophy is rooted in wahkohtowin, it's anti-racist and seeks to be decolonial in nature. I actively challenge settler colonialism. I centre creativity as a source of learning. What makes me most curious about teaching and learning is the exchange between people in circle or within ‘self’ in circle. A lot of my conversations are centred on healing and mindful perspectives. This can often be very transformative for people.
My practice often includes collaboration with other creative people in various industries. Organizations, institutions, and people often reach out to work with me on creative projects with young people, to speak or perform for their conference or to hire me for commissions. Collaborations are always unique. If you want to work together, reach out!
To update you on my passion project: I am working on developing a youth probation diversion strategy called "HYPE: Helping Young People Engage". I am interested in finding pathways that divert future generations of Indigenous people from a dependency on Canadian systems.
